Using the power of the media to share stories of those affected from the raging fires including koalas and kangaroos, the bushfire appeal found a voice around the world and the Australian Red Cross/ ABC networks, The Salvation Army/ 7 Networks and St. Vincent de Paul's/ Channel 9 are three organisations among many, that have raised $150M. Aussie comedien, Celeste Barber ran a fundraiser for the fire services of New South Wales, Australia and that raised A$20 million in just 48 hours. Her Facebook appeal simply said: "Please help any way you can. This is terrifying."
